Town Administration

The hours of operation for the Town Hall from 9:00 am through 5:00 pm, Tuesday through Thursday.

The Town Council for the Town of Olanta meets on the first Thursday of each month at 6:30 unless otherwise posted.  Council Meetings are held at the Town of Olanta Town Hall at 103 Park Avenue, Olanta, SC unless otherwise posted.

No, The Town of Olanta does not pick up yard debris left by the roadside.  We encourage you to take all furniture and/or yard debris to the dump site located at 4212 Chandler Road and is open Mondays, Wednesday, Fridays and Saturdays from 7 am to 7 pm.

Chapter 32 section 1 defines a mobile home or trailer as: Trailer means any vehicle or similar portable structure having no foundation other than wheels, jacks or skirtings and so designed or constructed as to permit occupancy for dwelling or sleeping purposes. The term "trailer" is to be synonymous with "mobile home" and "house trailer."

Chapter 32 section 3 states: It shall be unlawful within the limits of the town for any person to park any trailer on any street, alley or highway or other public place or on any tract of land owned by any person, occupied or unoccupied, except as provided in this chapter.  Please refer to the the Town of Olanta Code of Ordinances for further information.

 

Yes, the Town of Olanta does have a “Leash Law” and it described in detail in Chapter 6 Section 6-3 in the Town of Olanta Code of Ordinances.  If you see a stray animal or a stray animal is on your property please call the Florence County Environmental Services at (843)-665-3053.

Fire Department

Dial 911 and the Florence County EMS team and/or the Olanta Rural Fire Department will respond.

Police Department

No, for all police emergencies dial 911.  The Florence County Dispatch will contact the Town Police officer if he is on duty if not the Florence County Sheriff's Office will respond.
