Olanta Recreation Department
The Olanta Recreation Department is a vital part of the Town of Olanta. The department offers baseball, softball, football, soccer and cheerleading. Our Recreation Department is a part of the larger Florence County Recreation Department and a member of the National Dixie Youth Baseball League. Baseball
The Town of Olanta Parks & Recreation Department hosts several youth baseball leagues within the Town of Olanta. Leagues are provided for participants ranging from ages 5 to 14. Leagues are governed by a volunteer board with direction from Florence County Parks and Recreation Department Commission. League participation is dependent upon the participant’s location of residence.
Registration for spring youth baseball begins on the first day of February each year. The registration fee is $40 per participant. Insurance is included in the cost of registration. Youth participate in a pre-season evaluation to determine placement on teams. Season games usually begin in March and last until June, followed by post season tournaments. Teams will play one or two games per week and practice an additional one to two days per week. All participants must play according to their age groups.
Soccer
The Town of Olanta Parks & Recreation Department hosts several youth soccer leagues within the Town of Olanta. The league is composed of four age groups/divisions ranging from 5 to 12 years of age. The age groups/divisions are as follows: 6 to 8 year olds, 9 to 10 year olds, and 11 to 12 year olds. The last day to register is the first day of September.
Registration for the Soccer League begins on the first day of August each year. The registration fee is $40. Each registrant will be required to participate in an evaluation to determine placement on a team. Games begin in September and last until late October, followed by post season tournaments.
